You're talking about the backlift, no one does the backlift anymore, don't get me wrong the Paul was great and probably the best when it comes to strength vs time period but the main reason why his record in the backlift hasn't been broken is because it is a very impractical lift to set up, even by arnold classic standards.
Don't let big numbers alone fool you, it also depends on which lift. One example is that a 2000 lb leg press actually requires less strength than a 1000 lb squat.

Your right. For his time he was awesome. I'm old enough to remember when seven hundred pounds in the bnch was unheard of. Now it's what over a grand now? My best in colloge was 680, I can't even imagine what 1000 pounds would be like. Do you know what the numbers (records) on the big three lifts are?

Mike Miller Squat 1220 (a lot more controversial than andy's deadlift, if you choose not to recognize Miller's squat there his andy' of 1213 lbs)

I don't understand why the female interviewer has to be in a bikini. That seems a little sexist; and the card girls too . . . yeah all other ring sports have the card girls in the bikinis. I don't know it seems sexist and takes away from the athletes' accomplishments. I guess the thought is that some in the crowed need "eye candy" to be a part of the audience?

i agree. it takes away from the seriousness and the integrity of all these men put into training: like as if having women in bikinis present papers at a scientific or philosophical convention, it would detract from the intellectual effort and seriousness that goes into the work (same here)

Exactly my point - The athletes aren't side show freaks. The men and women that compete in strongman put their blood, sweat, and tears into their training and competitions.

the five fingers is harder than this, this you just squat, the five fingers is a better measurement and comparison for competition as you use your whole body.
