Except anaemia doesn't turn your blood blue. It's simply a deficiency of haemoglobin in the blood. I've been anaemic as have plenty of people I know and you bleed red. Besides, the blood smeared on his mouth IS red.
It's funny because he's a vampire and a doctor - nothing to do with the colour of the blood at all.

Hmm, I must have been drunk when I commented last. Blood is always red, but does vary in how dark it is, depending on O2 and CO2 levels. Veins look blue due to light reflecting as it passes through the skin.
