Well in fact she is under pitch in some part of the aria. Still she's amazing and i love her.
But i don't understand you. Why she can't be out of tune??
SHE WAS HUMAN!!! There are so many things that can affect pitch....maybe she was a little sick, a flu, maybe the orchestra is too far from she... she was not a machine... this is art not sport.

Não entendo porque há tão poucas gravações no mercado, de Lucia. E porque é tão poucas vezes emitida.O facto de ter morrido tão cedo - que pena - não devia ser pretexto para estar tão ignorada, sendo certo que é uma das maiores artistas líricas da história da música.

I would say that listening to her sing the aria, I can visualize myself in the midst of the Czech fairy tale. I'm there feeling what Rusalka is feeling. She does not sing it in a broad, dramatic way that you could sing any aria. It's clear we're talking about a melody rich with Czech tradition. Hope that answers your question, although many people might not also think so.

OMG she is simply superb. So fresh and elegant at the same time. What a pity she died so soon. Together with Milada Šubrtová and Pilar Lorengar, the best interpreter of this aria.

Every time I hear this it makes me think of the movie "Driving Miss Daisy". There's a scene in that movie when Miss Daisy is listening to her radio & this song is playing. The look on her face while she listens to the song is priceless. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
