It reduces damage to minimum possible for the next hit received. It's vital on bosses, especially this guy, his attacks normally dish out 5-digit damage.

Would I need a mod chip for my PS3 to play this game? I know I would for sure need one for the PS2, but I don't know how the PS3's region locks work.

That is one pussy final boss. It takes me years to beat the GBA OG2 bosses, yet ultimate attacks in this game ACTUALLY DO DAMAGE. This is an alien concept to me.
