A bass with a body like that is built to be electric. A bass like that in the 1600s would have no resonance at next to no volume, making it useless. Based on the headstock it looks like a custom NS Designs bass, which is a brand he's been known to use... If it's you think a 1600s bass I have a bridge I'd like to sell you...

I don't doubt that either. It's a little on the small, thin side. BUT, the other chap I was responding to seemed to think you could put pickups or knobs on an old bass.
