Stopping power is all relative. A .45 and a 9mm.both will kill you. Even a .22LR will kill you. Having body armor is one thing, but In a real life situation, a .22LR in the chest compared to a 9mm, compared to a .45ACP, compared to a .50AE all have the same end result. The difference being, you can put 3-4 rounds of a .22 or 9mm into someones chest in 2 seconds....while the .45 or .50 will take you 2 seconds just to re-aim from the recoil.
