Don Cheadle is supposedly playing Miles soon. A perfect choice; great actor. Hope the film is more artistic and free than the conventional biopics of Cash and Charles. This is about jazz for Christssake! It's gotta be free.

This style of jazz is better suited to the jazz club rather than the concert hall. It takes time to find the groove and when everyone is watching at once there is almost an uncomfortable feeling.

That's a good point. I think jazz is always better suited to a club setting though; there's just something about a smoke filled room full of tipsy people that says jazz to me. It puts me in mind of a 20's speak easy. Either way, damn is that poetry!

I agree with both of you guys about the club versus the concert hall. The concert hall really doesn't fit Jazz. There's an intimacy and an immediacy that's lost with the concert hall. But the bigger halls allow more people to enjoy and most importantly compensate the artists. I think the stage has something to do with it moreso than the size of auditorium itself. The stage removes the intimacy.

epstone1: I LOVED what you are calling the less artistic and free- "Cash and Charles.."conventional biopics!" Their lives were not picture-perfect, and I think we saw REALITY. Jamie Fox won the OSCAR..That was not 'conventional biopics!' there also was GREAT MUSIC in those 'BIOPICS!'-what ELSE do you want?!
