Yeah, well I'd love to see you sing whilst high on acid/whatever drugs they were on at the time. I know from personal experience that it's rather hard.

It's just alcohol...not drugs as many people think. Read David Nolan's book on Sumner & New Order - "Confusion". That documents Barney saying he just got pissed a lot, as well as others backing up that notion.

Fun bit of trivia - in the late 80's there was a TV show on CBC Halifax - maybe it was nationwide? - I'm not sure but it was called "Land & Sea", dealt with contemporary issues on the East Coast of Canada and it used the intro of this song as it's opening theme (more specifically I believe it was the 12" version that appeared on Substance)
