ALWAYS a funny skit because Stiller could not infringe on the copywritten, "What a country." "What a sovereignty of independent states." Not to mention the flop sweating and ending up in the fetal position. LOL I'm sure Yakov Smirmoff has moved past it all. He even had a sitcom in 1986 to 1987 called "What A Country."

What's really hilarious are these comments. Half are from Eastern Europeans and the other half are from American Republicans no doubt. Both of which see "Yakov" as some sort of folk hero and comedic Genius for offering up such gems as "In Russia, TV watches YOU"
Face it, the guy is probably a good human being, but his WHOLE act was on how it was funny that the Soviet Union was oppressive. Once the Soviet Union fell, he did too. That's what Stiller is making fun of.
