your problem is the clutch, its most likely been overheated, stretching the springs in the clutch, making the clutch shoes able to engage at idle, unless your gokart has a snowmobile type setup like mine with the belt, clutch and secondary clutch

Actually for the ppl making fun of the "TWITS" its a CVT "continuously variable transmission" As the name implies, its a type of transmission, NOt so much like a torqe converter, but I suppose it performs a simmaler operation :) Get your facts straight before ya stomp on the little guy xD

on your engine is it 2 or 4 stroke i dont knw alot about snowmobile engines and i was wondering do you mix the gas with oil or put it in somewhere like on a car

Thats 2 stroke and almost all sleds are oil injected but personally i just mix it with the gas. You never know when that cable to teh oil injection will break adn once u find out it will be to late. Also i always use a tad more oil then recomended, ide rather change a plug then a piston.

well the engine seesed up so i took the head gasket off and where do i put the oil in well its off should i dump some in then put it back together cause i found the problem it was a peie of metal but how do i put the oil in if you send me your e-mail or somthing i will send you pics thanks

I have a single cylinder jlo 223cc and at my track were gonna put in on a kart for fun, how fast do you think it will be? BTW I also own a real kart, italkart elite with a Parilla Leopard, I just brought it by my track to see if we could have some fun with it since a relative gave it to me and I haven't had a chance to start it, what ratio should I mix the oil?

nah a CVT isn't anything like a torque converter at all. It's more like a transmission with an infinite amount of gear ratios inbetween a certian range.

um before you do ANYTHING i think you should have somebody who actually knows something about snowmobiles inspect your engine because it can get very complicated, especially if you cant identify were the "piece of metal" came from

20:1 is a good start. with a gokart if it's not smoking out the exaust then you don't have enough oil in the mix. I ran super karts with a '84 Suzuki RM 250 and this amount is way more than the book calls for but you have to remember that the tire contact patch on a bike is much smaller than a kart puts on the ground, 3 sq. in. compaired to over 24 sq. in. of a kart. my kart tires were 12 in wide, about the biggest you can get for a kart.
