His auld man used to take him to the bottom o Glen Ogle at Lochearnhead and tell him to cycle up it. it takes 8 minutes in a car and it is a mountain - nae wonder he was king o the mountains. A legend. Been up it a few times - even better coming down. Suggest you make a point of going up it at 03:30 in the morning on midsummers day - ye cannae beat it.

My oh My, I never thought I would see this ever again! Millar was the man in the 80's...if he had a kilo of more power he would have won the tour...no question. Watching this clip again brings back a flood of memories and puts in to perspective the farce of the modern TDF.

Get back on the road!! 35 miles this morning and I'm on night shift tonight. Been on holiday for 3 weeks and this was my first day back after a few weeks on the beer. quite easy going out, shit got the wind wrong and it was an easterly in my face all the way home on the big ring! Get it back on the road. Be hard at first but you gotta go through hell to get to heaven!! Cycle on.

and the sad thing is that the guy who really lost that 88 stage wasn't millar but bouvatier, who never won a major race before or after that day.
