I would choose maple I have a maple fretboard on my fender strat it just looks beter because the head color is usually maple it looks best if it matches

maple will give you a brighter and punchier sound while rosewood will give you a warmer, darker tone. it's all about your own preference. i prefer rosewood for humbucker guitars, and maple for single coils.
