What about the moms and dads who aren't idols of the celebrity that you worship?
How do they carry on when they lose their sons or daughters?
Hearing this ... ( 8 months ago by floridashorti)
Hearing this stellar Joe Walsh tune takes me immediately back to those great partyin' days "of old"....what a talent! Doesn't seem like today's music makes me feel quite the same is this does. Still rocks the socks off this 50 yr "old" babe!
My point exactly! I ... ( 8 months ago by burkneet)
My point exactly! I was just referencing Joe, etal. since he is in this video! He is obviously no different than any other person except that he is well known. I don't know how ANYONE carries on after such a loss! Don't know that I could.................

Had 3 James Gang ... ( 8 months ago by Ixtulu)
Had 3 James Gang albums in the mid and late 70ies - I loved their sound. I am from Austria, Europe and I prefered many rock bands from the States - they had a special sound. Right now I just have 2 CDs (rides again and live at the royal albert hall), I have seen, many James Gang and Joe Walsh vinyl records are on CD now. Nice music!
Sad about losing ... ( 7 months ago by faroutlindsey)
Sad about losing people. Innocent in the 60's-70's? Hard to keep your innocense in the 60's after you have taken a 8 way hit of acid.I was jaded at the ripe old age of 15!Saw coke and coca -cola in white flasing all over the walls ,while give peace a chance was playing and thinking "OH THIS SONG WILL NEVER BE A COMMERCIAL" .well these days I am not so sure. A vision of things to come while on acid?
Yep, sad! How ... ( 7 months ago by burkneet)
Yep, sad! How SHOULD one feel about losing "people", especially when that "people" is your child?!? Innocent: for some but, of course, not all! Fortunately I NEVER did any of that stuff! I don't want to use this as a forum for ........... well, I'll just end my comments here except to say, "ROCK ON, JOE!".
Well this is a 55 ... ( 6 months ago by Cookle53)
Well this is a 55 year old and each and every time I hear this music, I start looking for the DVD replacements. Have a lot of them now. Metal and rock music today always sounds the same. I can remember crusing the "loop" with songs like this blasting from every car. Man ... need to go cruise a little now .......
thank you so much ... ( 6 months ago by Crowsfan55)
thank you so much musicvault!!...I have seen Joe twice with Eagles..3 times on his own but he never played this...the James Gang "Rides Again"....thank you so much
They kept the raw ... ( 6 months ago by Rexicano)
They kept the raw sound from the time this was a new song...great!
My old band used to nail this one along with old Fleetwood Mac tunes. Nothing like older rock...it pretty much sucks after the mid 70s. No bands ever played better rock than bands from that period. Walsh has not let the band turn into some watered down version or doing some stupid "unplugged" thing with electric players who barely know their way around acoustic guitars...usually the old bands are so pathetic these days.
agree...would go ... ( 6 months ago by Crowsfan55)
agree...would go see Joe anytime...saw Robin Trower a few months ago...still good but not the same?...my thoughts these days are I'd rather see new bands that rock...
First saw them play ... ( 6 months ago by andyinoregon)
First saw them play this in the early fall of 1969 in the basketball gym at Defiance College. Joe put down the guitar and played just the organ on this tune. Only three guys in the gang, but what a mighty sound they made that night.

It's funny IXtulu, you say you're from Austria yet you prefer the U.S. bands, I'm the opposite being from the U.S., but prefering European bands. Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, even the Scandinavian Black Metal stuffkids are into nowadays like COB, Emporor, Bathory, etc., but yeah there are some American bands that could/can play one of them being The James Gang. I generally
prefer more complicated music hence the Euro taste, but the Gang as GFR have catchy pieces,
no doubt.

Never got to see the Gang live, but have out all 10 of my LP's today to celebrate drummer Jim Fox's 61st birthday today, 8-24-08!
I do have them playing Walk Away on the guitar gods DVD.
For those who don't know, Joe played on the 1st 3 studio LP's and the following live LP.

You're right. Joe's style is unique. Pete Townshend once said Joe was his favorite Guitarist. When "Rolling Stone" magazine published their "Top 100" guitarists, Joe wasn't on the list. Which only proves they don't know their ass from their elbow. I hope the "Gang" tours again soon!!!!

This song is on a live concert album from 1971and on compact disc, if you can find it-classic Joe Walsh!
