Being a Native American, you should be proud that someone is taking a proactive and somewhat militant stance on Native American issues. I am 100% Navajo and attended CU-Boulder while Ward was a professor there. I took a couple of his classes and had never seen someone so passionate and concerned with Native American issues. Whether or not he was a TRUE Native by blood quantum, he always spoke the TRUTH and never once backed down on what he believed. I respect & totally back this man, anyday.

I believe Ward's motives and compassion for Native American issues are true and genuine. Many Natives have chosen to judge him based on his lack of "true" Native American blood. I say, so what, is there anyone else out there willing to speak so true and passionate about Native issues in order to invoke some sort of change and/or movement? I'm full blooded Navajo, took classes taught by Ward when I was an undergrad at CU and totally respect this man for his viewpoints and his courage.
