the f40 might not be nearly as fast in a straight line but it handles better and looks a lot better....the veyrons styling is more function orientated...i think the f40 is a beautiful car

Clearly these guys never learned to properly mount a camera--it would have been nice to see the road in the F40. I guarantee the F40 is faster on the circuit, being half the weight of the Veyron. I still prefer the scream of the Ferrari, but the whistle of the Bugatti's turbo almost gives me the chills...

Uh, the F40 was anything but practical. It was a race-bred racecar for road use which no ordinary drivers could extract the full potential from
Fact is it's hasn't even got servo assisted brakes or servo assisted steering, some even had a crash gearbox without synchronization
this video is NOT stupid, it compares two totally different cars from different eras as a comparison only, not a serious test

Yet another one of those IDIOTS that thinks Global Warming started with Al Gore.
They have been talking about it for 20 years or more.
And one thing more. The McLaren F1 is very unstable at 240mph and only professional racedrivers will ever drive it over 200mph. The real engineering marvel of the Veyron is that it's rock stable at 250mph and ANY idiot can take it up to that speed.

I wasn't suggesting that Al Gore started the whole Global Warming crap - that was more likely Margrat Thatcher. He's just spearheading it for whatever he has to gain from it.
As for the Veyron being stable - that's probably due to it having softer suspension or thicker tyres - either way there's a trade off for that comfort, it's not just mechcanical magic! Besides, what fun is a supercar if it looks likes and feels like an Audi?!

I heard the fastest (highest top speed) car in the world way the Callaway Corvette which could hit 254MPH but then it's a race-track-only car. Then again, I've also heard that a race version of the McLaren F1 (LM, GT-R or GT) could reach 255MPH if the aerofoil was removed... Can anyone confirm?

Well If we talk about race cars i know dragsters can go up to 500kmh and the veyron to 407kmh(250mph aprox) but the fastest street car i think is the shelby supersports car that goes up to 413kph

I understand you guys are not a car Mag & can't test 2 similar cars. Comparing these two is unfair since the F40 is around 10 yrs old. And yes the F40 sounds awesum. Even matched up against the Mclaren Merxedes the Veyron wins the day, but so it should as it has almost 400HP more.

to date fastest prod vehicle is Ultimate Aero SSC at 256 MPH. I'm not a big fan, but those are the facts.
if you're talking land speed record, it's the ThrustSSC at 760.343 mph.
You need to specify prod vehicle, race car, or land speed record. Of course, the land speed record used a turbofan engine.

Hablan que el Ultimate Aero es el carro mas rapido del mundo pues si es ligeramente mas rapido que el Veyron pero por 1 kilometro
pero si vemos que el Veyron es un carro extremadamente lujoso y mucho mas pesado que el Aero no hay punto de comparacion si al Veyron le quitas un asiento y algo de peso tranquilamente superaria al aero.
En el ultimate aero se fijaron solo en poder a diferencia del veyron que es poder y tecnologia que esta a dos anos luz del aero
