To truly appreciate what it takes to do what these three guitarists are doing (technique, theory, improvisational skills,years&years of practice & playing, etc) requires the same type of aforementioned time/talent/effort they have expended to reach their respective levels of expertise. The concept of something musical is "CRAP" because it has been performed/studied/utilised many times (done to death) ... one might as well consider Mozart/Bach/Chopin/The Beatles/Hendrix, etc., as CRAP? Hmmm...

All three Hellecasters are equally great in their own right. Jerry Donahue has always been my favorite in terms of tone, style, technique, etc.
I have to say, though, I DO NOT like his tone here at all. It isn't the Jerry Donahue I know and love. I'm thinking he must have been experimenting with something different in terms of gear and/or settings here. Will Ray's performance of Sweet Dreams on this show is the standout in my opinion. His tone and overall performance were BETTER than the CD.

I don't really understand all these overwhelmingly positive comments... I think this song doesn't work at all. Jerry's guitar is out of tune and most of the bendings are even worse. Also it sounds like he's struggling just to keep up with the tempo... Good ideas executed only half way...

It's all Jerrys' fault I got into this guitar thing in the 1st place years ago. Have you heard Fotheringay G&T, or have I asked you that already?The Sea is the track and it's Jerry in a more mellow mood..not playing riffs that would have lesser mortals fingers in knots I mean.Good music anyone should check out..Sandy Denny...what can I say?

Its a hair too fast in pace for that particular piece of music and thus it sounds way too rushed...but the guy is talented for sure. If you listen to Jerry Reed play it at the correct tempo it sounds much better.

JD is a great player, and his version of this on the "Telecasting" album is superb - but I would agree that this version is not of the best, off the cuff or not. He loses pace here and there - too fast indeed.
