Complaints gathered from the SC2 community forums are put together in this video. Though I disagree with some complaints, there are good points here that Blizzard should look into. The positive feedback is generally decided by which parts of the game that never get any critique, or that the fans just love. The marine tank zealot and ghost are all great looking, the criticism is directed at some details that people dislike. Starcraft 2 deserves the most critical fans ever, because this game could make history, just like Starcraft did. Enjoy.

I hate to say this, but creativity is majorly lacking, and too much Warcraft(gargoyles anyone among other things). The characters icons for some units are extremely unappealing and downright ugly as in case of the human center commander...a female that looks like someone from cyberpunk with revolting features - yet on the other hand building for Zerg looks like someting from SpongBobsSquarePants - all bubbly...Zorks called too, they want their houses back also. Hire people with creativity pleas

The problem with the look of SC2 is that it looks like they used the same lead artist from Warcraft3 and WoW. Amazingly, it looks like Diablo3 is now a victim of this.

Yes. I think the Protoss have lost all the qualities that made them interesting. They used to look ancient and heavily-armoured. Now they look fragile and are covered in flashing neon-lights. Zealots are used to look like they were running in medieval armour, not gliding over the battelfield like samurais.

Yeah, i agree with all the comments. It would be a big shame if Blizzard would spoil sc2 with childish neon colors and fairy-tail
units.
The most important in good art are not loads of colors but sense of realism and facts in unreal world.

Yes, I agree with your comments guys and I have some of my own to add. To me SC2 looks just a redone version of Starcraft with lots of WC3 influence. Maybe it's stupid or obvious, but I can't miss to mention those robots that turn into flying ships omg, I don't need to see a Druid of the Talon remake... I think comments cannot contain all the discussion we can make. But so far I don't see the point of Starcraft 2, except for the graphics; and I'm not sure how the gameplay is gonna be original.

I would have to agree. But the fact that you can even select ten barracks, two factories and double-produce units with one click negates any chance of progamers giving it a shot. This game is made to generate sales from a business perspective, it's sad that many blizzard fans (as I am) don't see that fact. It's pure milking.
This is gonna be Warcraft 4, not Starcraft 2.

I hope someone from blizzards see's this and so this game doesn't become War4. Or some alien version of Age of Mythology. Bc that's what this game is starting to remind me of. If you all want an Enemy make it EA. EA wants to rule of the gaming world. They kill quality and make quantity. Sadly thats where I think blizzard might be going. I'm just gonna hope Diablo 3 is messed up. Least it still looks promising.

Great video Sine. You know I can't understand Blizzard either. From an ethical point of view, they should listen to real fans who really know this game. From financial point of view, casual gamers are not competitive so they usually do not play multiplayer. This means the life-span is shortened of SC 2. I think you already see my point : Blizzard is making a huge mistake both ethically and financially....How come they don't see it?

I hate what blizz have done with SC2. its really really cartoony. WC and WoW are cartoony, and fair enough it works. but SC was more serious, more dark and kinda gothy. Id like to see that return to SC2.

The first thing I thought when I saw the Colossus was that it looked like the WotW tripods. There are so many things that I'm afraid will spoil Starcraft completely. I had the same opinions about goofy looking buildings like the new barracks, and alot of the units looking rediculously cartoonish, but another thing that bothers the hell out of me is the new dialog voices. Old sc sounded awesome. Every single unit had a feared voice. Find a demo vid, listen to new terran units. They sound homo. :(

Is anyone else having a problem clearly seeing what is happening in battles? There`s too much animation and too much color and shades.. I just find it really hard to tell units apart with everything they`ve added.

My main agreement is about that micromanagement may become redundant, which is what made the original so competitive, it was rather easy to pick up as an RTS, but difficult to master unless you really practised micromanagement. I think it may become too easy and be more about shoveling out fast units as opposed to build order, conserving resources, etc. The original had so many possibilities, you could pull back from having nothing if you're clever, but most of the micro seems done for you.

Main thing is the Blizzard developer have been playing too much WOW thats why everything they make looks like WOW. The Protoss now looks more like NightElf, I mean where's the armor? why he have to wear robe that primitive. The reaper unit is so fucking stupid, he hold pistols that can blast stuff up??? and hes a TRAINED! criminal(wow cant get that creative). The Zergs now looks like some WOW mobs. So yeah...you can say that they were smoking pots and play WOW when they design this garbage

I think the main reason Blizz loves the new simple cartoonish element in their artstyle is that it gives them an excuse to "lower" the graphic requirements of it's future games. Lower comp specs have been a mainstay in blizz games and a good marketing tool for them for years.

the biggest thing i'm worried about is that they'll put in a rock-paper-scissors like in AoE games. Starcraft was more about micro and how you used your units not, "they have light infantry, therefore, i must make cavalry".
i think rock-paper-scissors is why i get bored of AoE games but never with Starcraft

Blizzard executives are milking the fans and showing their true colors because Starcraft 2 failed. Look at Valve's "The Orange Box", where you get Half Life 2, ep.1 and ep.2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 for the price of one game. That's five times the value of Blizzards package.
If you have any respect for yourself at all, you'll avoid buying these three "story segments". There's a website out there called PIRATE BAY. Go there. Don't be consumer cattle, please don't put up with this scam.

Blizzard are Screwed, They put all their eggs in 1 basket (WOW) now it's dieing, There trying to pull strings by Creating SC2 to keep themselves alive. Although 98% of everything Blizzard creates is Ninja'd, It's only a matter of time. Like Beth creating Fallout 3 under the guise of 'For the Fans' but it's just an excuse to try and keep their Company alive. (It was only for the oblivion community and Xbox kids) . . .

I think that some of you are right. Units are hard to distinguish during the fight but thanks to a good graphic, battles are more realistic (war = chaos; watch "Saving private Rayan"). Blizz sholud take whole Starcraft 1 ang chage viual side of it. The system of structures and units was optimal in S1.
