Hi Garry, the waiting varies from surface to surface depending on the amount of suction in the walls and the temperature of the day, I must say that the timing is the actual art. When the first coat is stiff enough to flatten, then you are ready for the second coat, if in doubt use plenty of PVA, also, if you piss a little in the mix you are able to extend setting times by about a hour. Yes I do cross trowel and the end of a guage, for my own satisfaction (I like the walls shiny) I frequently coat up shitty walls with bonding, though I still unibond first, and I live in London but hail from the midlands. Many thanks for your nice comments. We actually did the vid for a laugh, I reckon it's a bit iffy cos of the credit crunch, I can honestly say no'one has ever paid me £25 a metre for unibond and skim, but, if you work cheap you will be treated cheaply. Very funny Ron.
I know you did this for a laugh. I had a giggle at it anyway.
Couple of points to make though, let people know about not breathing the plaster dust in when mixing (Wet plaster can be up to 13.5 Alkaline and inside the moist lungs that's not good) and make sure the open bags of plaster don't get splashed as that's the quickest way to get lumps in the next mix.
£25.00 a square metre? FFS don't tell everyone!

I remamember a similar trend in uk recently, best thing to do is lay on the first coat randomly, don't flatten in properly, then lay on second coat and polish up real hard at the end, all the trowel marks from first coat shine through.
