On 10/21/07, Stephen Colbert sadly bombed on Meet The Press. Tim Russert was allowed to stay in continued control of the interview, Colbert often relied on amateur slapstick type jokes, and there was no telling-truth-to-power "moment" like there was at his 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner speech. Many of his biggest fans were let down.

I don't think he did too badly, to be honest. I guess some people just don't know when something's funny unless they hear other people laugh at it first. Colbert doesn't always need someone to laugh at his jokes to be absurd, it seems.

I found this video really funny. It's not because the guy did not laught that it was unfunny. It just means that he doesn't appreciate that kind of humour. Some people find Mitch Hedberg, Jay Leno or Dave Attel funny, some don't. Some like Dane Cook, some like stand-up. Even the greatest comics weren't 100% garanteed to make everyone laugh.

ColbertFan2008, you just don't understand the context of the video AT ALL. do us all a favor and wipe your awful opinion off the title and description of this video.
Colbert was doing EXACTLY what he always does - satirizing American culture and politics. His presidential campagin was never meant to be taken seriously, and it is very clear in this video.
Russert was completely oblivious to Colbert's act, and that makes it even more funny.

The whole thing was totally playful, but very satirical and very nuanced by both of them. Very well done...especially the part about Larry Craig at the end. They both were playing off each other, but it was intelligent and subtle. Watch again.
