Few people that know music, I mean musicians, can listen to and hear the way these guys play and not be impressed regardless of wheather they're fans or not. Ask any percussionist whats the hardest tempos to keep and they'll tell you jazz, well, The Dead have many slow songs and no one can play them like these guys. Even this song, how many different overlapping bass lines does Phil lay down? Nobody bends and vibratos like Jerry's notes. Always miserable losers trying to bring people down.pc

There's a problem with syncing sounds and film, but otherwise this is great. Everyone has covered this song, Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare, Willie Nelson, and yer Janis too. I'll admit that Janis' version is probably one of the best songs of all times. But the Dead in their interpretation don't fall in the usual trap (first part, then working up to the climax). The Dead version is wonderfully understated compared to the other versions and Jerry's guitar is just great in this. I love it.

I think if there were more bands like this in the world that the youth was listining to there would be less hate and violence in the world. Music has been going and still is going in the crapper. At this rate in 30 years music will just be compuiter operated cause everyone will be to lazy to learn how to play any instuments. We need another grateful dead like band to come out.

Yes. I miss this tremendously. I saw The Grateful Dead live and in concert about 20 times from 1975-1979 and saw The Jerry Garcia Band and Kingfish also several times. Best of times, man. Best of times. You're so right.
