Does golf have skill? YES.
Is it athletic? YES

Wow are golfers "athletes" really. good question. i got the answer for ya, Hell Yea they are. I dont think people realize how difficult the game of golf is. anyone can shoot a soccer ball in a goal, or a basketball in a hoop. but it is hella hard to get a little golf ball in a tiny golf hole. And you have to be crazy strong just to hit it far. So try asking the question now...

Well, aren't we so smug. Not only do I think golf is a sport, I know that the players are all athletes in every respect of the word. This was in response to another comment where the poster said that he didn't believe golf was a true sport.

I want to see you play a game of basketball. I want to watch you run as fast as you can while keeping control of the ball, without dribbling above your shoulders, carrying it, or looking at the ball. Plus basketball takes a lot of thinking. You have to see the floor and know the perfect time and place to pass the ball. You also have to know when to shoot and when to put the ball on the floor.
Try playing a real game of basketball before you go off talking bad about it.

Let me tell you this. I have played basketball for about 8 years now. My dad was the best point guard in washington when he played and took his team to get 2nd place in state. I think i know how to play basketball and what it takes. R u trying to say that it doesnt take skill, strength, and a mental game to play golf?
