That is right. But the orgin of original melody and lyrics is unknown as far as i know. Many bands and singers has done thier own version of this. After all, its a very nice melody!

First time I've heard it from a female perspective . It's very moving . A bit too sad like that. I still can't find the greatness of the guitar melody anywhere. I think it is with The Animals version but I'm not so keen on the singing on that. Maybe not Eric's fault but it might be because all the freshness has gone out of it over so many years.
