Uploaded by: agusts
Video Description:
The World Strongest Man competition 1992 in Iceland. It was a great battle and probably the tightest competition for the World Strongest Man. Magnús Ver Magnússon won in 1991 and was the favourite in his homeland. Jón Páll Sigmarsson is an expert for the television this year, but he died in January 1993.
Here you can see part number six, the axe hold and the plane pull.
About the event:
Here you can see the competitors trying to hold the axe with their hands straight in shoulder height. In the plane pull the competitors have to sit and pull a plane. The building behind the competitors in the Axe hold is Höfði. Ronald Reagan (USA) and Michail Gorbatsjov (Soviet Union) met in Höfði and ended the Cold War.
Competitors:
Ted Van Der Parre (Netherlands), Magnús Ver Magnússon (Iceland), Jamie Reeves (Britian), Gerrit Badenhorst (South Africa), Gary Taylor (Britain), Henning Thorsen (Denmark), Gregg Ernst (Canada), Ilkka Nummisto (Finland), James Perry (USA) and Ilkka Kinnunen (Finland)
Just like to add that Ilkka Nummisto is 48 years old in this competition!
