My Tribute to Fandango

Fandango, my all time favorite movie. A film about friendship, growing up, and how things change with time.
This is a video I put together with screenshots, a few video clips, and several photos I took. From March 2 to March 5 2007 a friend and I drove all over west Texas visiting several of the locations where Fandango was filmed. This film has meant a lot to me for over 20 years now. Not a lot of people seem to know of this film, but most who do really cherish it. It was an amazing experience to see all these locations in person. If you haven't seen it, check it out!

Great video! I myself have visited the DOM rock (didn't find Dom, however). Fandango, Giant, There will be Blood, No Country, and Streets of Laredo (going back a ways) were all filmed in that area - about as remote as you can get and still be in Texas. The DOM rock is what, 150 miles from the nearest interstate? Again, great video. If I can find some of my clips I'll post a video response.

Fantastic job for a fantastic movie. I can count the number of people I know that have seen this movie on one hand. A shame. I myself was totally lucky to happen across it back when it came out.

Wow! What a cool way to pay tribute to this movie. You're right, it's one of those films that becomes your own. I remember the first time I saw it I was at home sick on the couch and then the Space Shuttle Challenger had just blown up. I think I rented or might have been on HBO. Where was The Groovers frat house, do you know?

The Groover's frat house scene was actually re-shot on soundstages at Warner Bros in Los Angeles. It was originally shot at the abandoned Toyah high school in Toyah,TX but not used for some reason. I stopped and took some pics of the school on this trip also. It's not far from Chata Ortega's.

fantastic, fair play. i recorded this movie by mistake 1 night, late on bbc2, about 15 years ago. fell in love with it. before i die ill take a trip out that way and find the dom rock. favourite line:"does this mean i get my fondu set back?" anyone else got a favourite line?
