Bridget made her way through the crowd to an uncomfortable looking Joe
"hey...sorry to interrupt?" she asked hesitantly
Joe shook his head "no problem" he said sounding a bit too excited that Bridget had stopped his little dance with Nicole.
"did you need me?" he asked suddenly concerned. He's been watching Bridget at the bar just as much as she'd been watching him with Nicole. Jealously, he'd seen all the guys who'd hit on her.
"had one of them gone to far?" he'd wondered to himself
"well, we have to get ready. We'll be getting the floor to ourselves in only a little bit"
"oh, okay. Hey, can I talk to you outside really quickly?" he shot a glance at Nicole and added quickly "um...about the choreography, there's a part I cant remember"
"what? I cant believe this. Now you tell me? Ugh...okay let's go outside" Bridget said genuinely angry
As they cut their way through the crowd towards the exit the music in the club stopped abruptly in the middle of a song and the D.J spoke into his mike.
"ladies and gentleman. We have a special surprise for you all tonight."
The crowd hushed and the D.J went on
" our resident dance wonder child Bridget Poynter's paying us a visit to show off some brand new moves..."
The crowd erupted in cheers. Judging from her popularity, this was not her first time coming to this club.
The D.J continued after the applause and enthusiastic yells died down "...and her brand new partner" he looked down at a note card "D.J Danger." he said frowning slightly and shrugging in a 'I don't know either' way. "we'd like to ask at this time for you to please clear the dance floor. Make room, make room. GET OFF THE FLOOR!"
"Joe..." Bridget began
"It's okay. I remember now. Must've been my nerves or something"
"well then hurry, the music's about to start"
They turned around, headed back in the direction of the heart of the club
Bridget looked for Haley in the audience. When she found her she yelled over the noise in the club "the camera! Put it on!" and motioned to a camera sitting on a tripod nearby.
Haley held up an 'okay' sign and went to do as she was told.
Bridget turned her attention back on Joe
"your going to do great. don't be nervous" she said holding his large hands in her own small ones
Joe exhaled a giant breath and the corner of his lip went up in a smile.
"are you ready?" she asked getting excited
"yeah. Lets get this done. Then after I've got something I need to talk to you about" Joe said as he got into position
"uh-huh" Bridget replied feeling butterflies in her stomach. Now SHE was the one who was nervous.
The beat kicked in, and nothing else mattered. Forget the world, forget that test you failed yesterday, just focus on the moves and you'll be alright.
They danced, completely letting go and having fun. The crowd couldn't get enough of them and with every stunt they pulled like Joe's back hand spring during the opening of the song, the applause and cheers only grew.
Now they were winding down to the end of the song.
"And I dont care, who's watchin...watchin...watchin" The beat slowed down as Usher's voice boomed from the speakers
"Step, knee step, turn, ball change, contract" Joe thought to himself as he executed the movements he'd been practicing for weeks now.
"this is it. This is it." thought Bridget to herself not paying much attention to her dancing, the steps were as natural as breathing to her. "this is when you show him. Just like in all those chick flicks you've spent hundreds of pounds renting from blockbuster. This is the moment."
"watchin watchin...ohhhh...in this club, on the floor, baby's just makin love"
Joe walked a small distance away from Bridget
She went into a handstand and he picked her up flipping her onto his back and spinning with her still on his back.
The applause was thunderous. So much so that it drowned out the music.
Joe settled her back on the floor in front of him. The rest of their routine forgotten as they smiled widely into each other's eyes breathing hard.
"so about that talk then?" Bridget said wanting to get away from all the bodies that were now piling back onto the dance floor
"yeah, follow me..." he clasped onto her hand and walked ahead weaving a path toward the exit with her in tow.
DUN DUN FUREAKIN DUN! SWEET. DIRTY DANCING MOMENT ACCOMPLISHED.LOL.OKAY, SO I'M THINKING I SHOULD WORK ON THE OTHER CHARACTERS NOW SINCE I HAVENT DONE SO IN A WHILE. TELL ME WHICH YOU WANT. MORE OF JOE AND BRIDGET OR ONE OF THE OTHER PAIRS
