oh and by the way I have an HDTV and I tried my ps2 using the red green blue composite cables for video, I then tried various games like god of war, shadow of the colossus and Gran Turismo 4 on both the PS2 and then the PsS3 upscalled, and honestly the PS3 looked a lot better the upscaller on HDMI really smoothed out the rough edges and the colors where better to, so I am sure that this video refers to the 80gb and 40gb models that use the software emulation instead of the actual PS2 chip.

has microsoft fixed the backward compatibility to run more games? because i see they havent updated the website area on that in a while and the games you can play are very limited compared to how many they have. from what ive heard ps3 can play all games from ps1/ps2 but the quality is harsh like in this video. i prefer the ps3 network for one reason over the xbox 360

technicaly the picture IS better on the ps3 due to the massive upscaling. Only reason it looks better to the human eye on it's original console is couse the output was made for a ordinary CRT (or other non lcd or plasma) screen to start with. But i agree that it looks worse. But it's still better in a technical way:P

when you got a PS3, having the compatibility is just to go back to hold school. Plus, there is no proof you didn't cheat those image. I've seen no difference on my tv and it's a standard. But when you got enough cash to blow on TV that cost a few K, I guess you want to try to care. The only thing Sony rip us off for is the dual shock controller.

So you're saying no one should buy a PS3 since we shouldn't buy it for the graphics? Cause that's all the PS3 has going for it. By your logic we should all keep playing or PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, Wii and 360 games because they have games with good gameplay and story versus PS3's graphics.
