How to Ride a Motorbike for the Very First Time!

If you want more advice and videos about riding check out http://www.m13online.com
Alright, regarding the braking issue...a few people have said that you should learn to use both brakes from the beginning......and I agree. But just not the VERY beginning. Because the VERY FIRST time you use a bike it's confusing enough without two different brakes being thrown in....one of which if pulled too hard can drop the bike on it's side in a flash. So the point of this video is to learn how to use the clutch....and while focusing on that....it's best to just focus on that. And when coming to a complete stop.....you should be braking rear 90% and front 10%. Which is the opposite to how you brake when traveling at speed.

I disagree. In my opinion driving for a couple of years in a car is much better, means your awareness increases and perception of traffic and hazzards becomes better etc.
Safer to have a crash in a car while your still just starting off on the roads and essentially still learning. Everyone I know pretty much bumped their first car a some point after they passed.

That's true, a car does have the advantage of being safer :P I was just thinking along the lines of it being safer to learn to ride on a small bike such as a 50cc or a 125 to get used to roads etc. Suppose it's just personal preference.

ultimatly it comes down to how u ride...if ur a "crotch rocket" then yeah ur likely to end up dead. but if ur safe and take it easy u proberbly have as much chance as a car to get plowed.

true say man i know from experience i used to love to go way too fast and nearly ended up dead many times. my best advice if you love bikes and going as fast as i do then stick to small bikes first, if your learning best to start on a manual moped like i did and i never crashed for my first 2 years of rideing and by that time i was aware to how trafic behaves. lol funny thing i have been rideing for 5 years now and have an aprilia rs 125 now i wont go bigger becouse i know i will go too fast

Good logic though. I'm a proud Manxman and I must have seen just about every kind of biker. It's just a shame for ones who don't have your common sense, and may eventually pay the price !
