Mulla Bassim Karbalaei recites this eulogy for Imam Hussain (a.s.), grandson of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Despite that Imam Hussain died over 1400 years ago, his martyrdom, struggle and tribulation is an inspiration to millions around the world today. Millions mourn and cry for him, as if he died yesterday.
This eulogy is a remembarance of the family of Mohammed and their struggles and oppression in Karbala. The chest beating is just culture, but its foundation represents joining the family of Mohammed in their tragedy and creates a sense of mourning, also showing that love for them is important and not something that should be ignored.
