I don't care for Ginza even though Ash & Diamonds is a great store. When I was in Japan I went to Harajuku and Meji-Jing-Mae almost every day. I like the J-Punk-Rock style for guys aswell as the Lolita-style for girls. Everyone should take a walk from Harajuku/Meji-Jing thru Yoyogi park to Shibuya. That'll get you a good hint of what's new in fashion. Mata ne...

Yeah, specially if you mean the Ginza kind of fashion. But the "harajaku-fashion-style", witch blossom, is more "I don't care" style with new Japaneese-only Punk Rock, Lolitas and such. So I guess many Japaneese teens are tired of following the western trends and make their own.

I very much agree with this. Seeing that was very disappointing and off-putting and those models did not need any ego boost about their racial background and hair color. It feeds into an identification of a racial superiority complex aesthetically, no matter how much those particular models would deny it if they were questioned about having developed that mindset.

It kind of irks me that the girls who are into the Western stuff want to be sooo... so... Westernized.
Little do they know, by trying to tan and dye their hair, they create a totally unique fashion that makes up Japan's fashion.
In a way, they're failing at trying to look Western makes them successful in fashion
